I thought moving to Colorado Springs was God just relocating me to another place. Boy was I wrong (did I really admit that?). I could not understand why, after all of my Faithful Service and growth in the Holy Spirit, that I was not receiving my "prosperous" life that was promised to me in Jeremiah 29:11 from all of those inspirational cards, magnets, and posters. You know the one,
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
This sent me into a deep depression. Why was God not prospering me? Why was I going through so many hardships physically, Spiritually, and financially? What was I doing wrong? I took a hiatus from this blog to fast and Pray. I had to get in touch with God on a deeper level. I Prayed. A LOT! I fasted. I read the entire New Testament. God finally Spoke to me. He let me know, unequivocally, that Satan is very angry with my Spiritual growth and is testing me. God is testing my Faith. He also told me to look into that scripture a little closer. So I went to my King James 1611 Version and looked up Jeremiah 29:11. It says,
"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."
Now that is a significant difference! I Googled it as all good computer aficionados do and discovered that this perverted version of that scripture is only found in the New International Version (NIV) and the New English Version (NEV)! The NIV is highly prostituted throughout the religions and many clergy preach from this commercialized version. As Paul so eloquently writes in 1 Corinthians 14:33
"For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints."
Not only are the new, wiz-bang, "easier to understand", profit making versions of God's Holy Word confusing, but they mis-lead today's Christians into believing they will reap material and financial rewards from God here in this life. This is the foundation of the "Pilgrims" who were not only expelled from their own country, but from the next one as well for their abhorrent behavior! They struck out for the North American continent under the auspices of "religions freedom". We all know about the history of that group. Puritanism is alive and well in nearly every "church" in the world.
These new age Pharisees disdain the poor, hungry, homeless, and disabled. They speak hatred about them as well as the government right in their pulpits!
